Principal's Message

Welcome back everyone.

I hope you all had a very restful winter break.  Our students and staff have worked extremely hard since the start of the school year, and the break was well deserved.  Even during the winter break, some of our teachers’ participated in Math and Science trainings.

Staff and students have returned with a renewed focus on the state test.  The districts latest Language Arts adoption of the Benchmark Advance texts has brought many new challenges, but our teachers have worked diligently to embrace the adoption in our efforts to best prepare our students for the SBAC test.

In addition to the many hours that teachers have spent t in training, our staff will continue to provide students with opportunities for both after school and Saturday Intervention classes.  Almost half of our student population took advantage of our fall interventions, and many more will participate in spring programs in Math, Language Arts, and Science.

Furthermore, we will continue to provide our students with Saturday school classes to make up absences. With that, I would like to thank all of those parents who have brought and will continue to bring students in on Saturday to make up absences.

Thank you again for your continued support,

Mr. David Hernandez
